Empowering home birth
"Home birth is very empowering. I did something joyfully that most women dread. They don't believe me when I say I'd rather give birth than see the dentist. With each birth, as I took more control and made the decisions, I grew up. I can make hard decisions and I can do hard things. It's probably the best therapy I ever had because it came from within and helped me realize who I am"

hey it's kami from the grandview ward (kami larsen). i am actually contemplating home birth right now with this 2nd baby. i am going to switch over to a midwife and most likely birth at home (i am still coming to a final decision but so far feel really good about it). i think it is true that birth can be a really empowering experience and that is what makes me most excited about having this baby!
Hey Kami...that's cool. I think you can find empowerment in any birth. But, home births are unique in that usually midwifes understand that this is something that is important to some women and try to facilitate that. I had my first two in Tucson at the freestanding birth center there and loved it.
